Wondering what the weather might like for your tip to Kauai? Here are the monthly averages for Lihue Airport.
Poipu tends to be drier and sunnier as it is to the leeward side of the island. It rains more on the north and east as the trade winds hit there first. Another consideration will be surf which gets very big on the north shore in the winter. Very exciting to watch. The south side will typically offer better swimming/snorkeling conditions in year round. It can rain and be rough over the whole island at times but generally it's nice. There are actually more hotels/condos in Princeville. Here are weather/rain averages for Lihue which is right in the middle between north and south.
Since we are on the sunnier side of the island, I designed the home to be very comfortable at all times to fully utilize the trade winds. This is one of the few vacation rentals on Kauai with air conditioned bedrooms for those that really want to chill :)
For added measure, the home completely insulated and has thermal windows making it one of the most comfortable vacation homes any where. How sunny is Poipu? Very! Hot water AND electricity are provided by the abundant sun. Utility back-up is seamless if required.
